Robert Bruce Moulton

An Alsager Scout

Petty Officer Robert Bruce Moulton was killed at sea whilst minesweeping on 18th May 1941.

He was on board H.M. Drifter Jewel whilst sweeping for enemy mines near Belfast.

He was the youngest of the four sons of Charles Moulton, all of whom were Scouts within the Alsager Scout Group. Charles formed the group in 1908, one of the earliest groups to be formed. He was also a Church Warden at Christ Church, Alsager and leader of the Town Council for 3 years.

As part of the town Remembrance Service on 14.11.2021 a scout from the group laid a small token of Remembrance at the War Memorial.

Alsager Scouts would like to thank his surviving family members for assistance in gathering this information.
